InternetSecure Inc. is a Canadian Corporation founded in 1995 to develop a secure, on-line, real-time credit card processing system for Internet merchants. The solution was to be easy to implement, require no capital investment by the merchant and able to provide merchant status. As important to our merchants and ourselves was that this system be approved by Canadian and United States banks for use by merchants throughout the world.

In March, 1996 the Company became the first in Canada to demonstrate a secure, on-line, real-time credit card processing system at the Canadian Internet Show in Toronto, and was approved by two of the top six banks in Canada.

Our first Merchant went into production in June, 1996. Since then we have grown, like the Internet, as more and more Merchants have recognized the need to accept credit cards in real-time in order to make money from their web sites.

InternetSecure Guarantees Your Merchant Status

For many small to medium companies the first barrier to conducting legitimate credit card transactions via the Internet is qualifying and acquiring Credit Card Merchant Status. Banks around the world are reluctant to deal with mail order/telephone and Internet merchants. If they do grant merchant status, they will usually require substantial security deposits prior to the merchant actually generating revenues over the Net. Internetsecure breaks down these barriers immediately!

As an approved Internet Merchant Acquiring organization, we have the authority to grant merchant status for use with the InternetSecure system. This is made possible in part by our track record with Internet transactions since 1996 and the fact that we guarantee all merchants' accounts to our financial institutions. We are authorized to provide merchant status for Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover to our merchants. It is not necessary for our merchants to obtain merchant status from their bank.

Canadian and United States dollar merchant status is available for all qualified merchants*, regardless of their country of origin. There are no requirements to incorporate or open bank accounts in Canada or the United States to be an InternetSecure merchant. InternetSecure will provide each of its merchants with a unique merchant number to be used with our system so that "YOUR MERCHANT NAME via Internetsecure" will appear on your client's monthly credit card statement for each purchase from your web site.

* Internetsecure guarantees merchant status for most Internet merchants with the exception of adult and gambling sites.
Internet Merchant Status
  • Currently we offer Canadian dollar merchant status for VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS and DISCOVER.
  • Currently we offer US dollar merchant status for VISA, MASTERCARD and DISCOVER.
  • Merchants have their own unique merchant numbers and names, which their clients will see on their monthly statement as "Your Company Name via InternetSecure".
Real-time Risk Management and Fraud Detection
  • Since 1996, in real-time we have rejected 21.6% of all transactions presented to our merchants based upon duplicate entries, keying errors and mischievous activity ensuring our merchants only deal with valid orders.
  • The end result of this Risk Management software is that InternetSecure merchants experience the lowest charge-back rate on the Internet, currently at less than 1/3 of one percent of approved transactions which is comparable to a non-internet retail merchant.
  • Secure, on-line, real-time processing of credit card purchases approved and supported by Canadian and American Banks.
  • For technical security, InternetSecure utilizes a robust firewall, Netscape Enterprise Server, proprietary secure card processing software called 'SETserver' and secure ISDN links to the existing Bank approved credit card processing infrastructure.
  • This system's infrastructure has been approved by multiple Bank security personnel.
Real-time, on-line delivery of electronic receipt and authorization to customer.
  • All credit card purchases from the Internet are electronically processed and notification received by the consumer in 26 to 36 seconds depending on the traffic on the internet.
  • There are no clumsy emails or special PINs with their inherent delays. Your customers receive approval and electronic receipt of their order within seconds.
  • All details about the purchase are included on the receipt, including your merchant name, time and date, Visa/MasterCard/American Express/Discover authorization number, products/services purchased and shipping information. No credit card numbers are stored in any system at InternetSecure. This information is captured and stored off-site by financial processing institutions.
Delivery of authorized consumer orders for merchant fulfillment.
